OVERVIEW : • The Barcol Hardness Tester is a convenient tool for testing the hardness of aluminum, aluminum • The Barcol Hardness Tester is a convenient tool for testing the hardness of aluminum, aluminum alloys, copper, brass and other materials including plastics, Fiberglass & FRP having hardness from 25 to 150 BHN (10 mm ball / 500 kg load). • The instrument is designed to use on fabricated parts and assemblies as well as on raw stock. FEATURES : • No experience is required. • Can be used in any position and in any space that will allow for the operator's hand. • The hardness reading is instantly indicated on the dial, which is divided into one hundred graduations. • No waiting, pre-loading or separate measurements. TEST PROCEDURE : • The specimen is placed under the indentor of the Barcol hardness tester and a uniform pressure is applied to the specimen until the dial indication reaches a maximum. • The depth of the penetration is converted into absolute Barcol numbers.
