Dynamic Balancing Machine Mechanical Description:The mechanical unit of PROTEQ Horizontal Balancing machine consists of a Cast Iron bed, machined with two “T” slots, two pedestal assemblies comprising of a fabricated Pedestal, Roller bridges fabricated out of MS, a roller assembly with a cross bridge and two hardened and grounded rollers with facilities to move them up and down depending upon the journal diameter setting on the rollers. A scale calibrated in diameter is provided for a quicker setting and to ensure the alignment is available between the two pedestals. The rollers are duly hardened and ground. A camber is provided for a point contact between them and the journal of the component being balanced. The driving elements are of three types: • Through the head stock, direct drive by using a universal shaft or by using dogs (band drive ). • A gearbox may be provided if multi speed, high torque balancing facility is required. • A variable frequency drive may be provided for infinitely variable RPM selection requirement. Alternative, a Gear box and VFD both may be provided for maximum torque at all speeds. The component may also be driven through a flat belt running over it. Two idler pulleys are provided for directing the belt and a tensioned pulley is provided to take care of the tension requirements and belt loop length adjustment. The drive from prime mover (motor) to the component will be through pulleys and “V” belts in the machine with headstock. The belt driven machines will be using belts made from rubberized nylon material. In belt driven machines the electronics is designed to take care of the joint in the belt. So if the readings are not repeating and consistent then check the condition of the belt. All the bearings in the machine namely spindle bearing, roller bearings are deigned and lubricated for years of service. So routine oiling and greasing is envisaged. The rollers are expected to have a line contact / point contact with the journal diameters. If they are worn-out at the outer perimeter it is recommended that they should be reground. Ensure all the rollers are ground to same diameter and at a time. It is expected the hardness on the surface of the roller will be to a depth of 1 mm and will allow many regrinds. The camber can be two times the diameter of the rollers.End stoppers are provided in the belt driven machine to retain the components in its place. They have a sealed bearing which provides the contact points. The user should ensure the circumference, at which the contact is made, is smooth and is a machined surface. Electronics Description:BALANCING ASSISTED SOFTWARE FOR ENGINEER • The BASE controller is fully digital and microprocessor based with display on PC, it has a built in ISO Calculator. • Display is available in Polar, Vector or Cartesian formats. • Software facilities include auto tolerance Calculation as per ISO 1940, system diagnostics through error messages. • The leading edge of state of the art technology employed in our BASE Controller offers very high reliability, accuracy, repeatability, flexibility and ease of use. •Balancing results print out can be taken at any stage of balancing. • The Computer based Instrumentation BASE is fully Digital Microprocessor Based with data input through key board and has CRT Display. • Machine has indication for Polar and Cartesian System. • Provision for taking printouts is provided. • Single Plane and two plane mode selection is provided. • BASE is microprocessor based, hence it is a permanently calibrated. • It is possible to select any geometrical configuration and feed data through the keyboard. • The system is user friendly, the main menu print out and result menu print out is annexed with our offer. • The set up menu is simple, the machine has calibration mode from where the calibration is done. Password is provided so that calibration is not tampered with. • Each job can be allotted a code and recalled from the memory. • There is adequate memory wherein data for more than 1000 jobs can be stored. • The entire circuitory is digital and the results are displayed on the CRT Screen. • Correction results are displayed in bold letters, copy of the same are annexed with our offer. Polar, component or vector mode can be chosen by the user. • Fault diagnostics are built in the system. • Calibration mode is there wherein the calibration can be checked and done if required. • The measurement time for the data processing unit is 10 seconds. • BASE is high-end dynamic balancing software designed with the operator in mind and service at site. This software is designed for Windows XP, and fully compliant with Windows 98. • Rotor setup and unbalance measurement is as easy as “point-and-click”. Because this software runs under WINDOWS™, the learning curve is very short, and the full potential of available features is easily accessible. • All 6 possible rotor configurations are available in a graphical point-and-click environment. • Print reports and balancing diaries are automated and available with a click of the mouse. Print reports can easily edited in MS word to insert users logo. The generated file format is compatible with MS Excel and WORD. • Units of measure can be selected or changed with a simple mouse-click. • Units are automatically converted from mm to inch, from ounce to gram, from gram-mm to ounce-inch, or any combination, no guesswork. • Rotor setup dimensions are entered directly on-screen.
